Hours after the Dailypost reported the death of HRH Oba Idowu Oniru in Lagos, The state Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, the Fuji Maestro Adewale Ayuba among others from different works of life have commiserated with the royal family.
Oba Idowu oniru who died in Lagos at the age of 82 after a brief illness, has been described as a monarch with dignity and progressive mind.
Under his reign, Iru land, the host of the highbrow Oniru and Victoria Island, became a mega location with investments and buildings worth hundreds of billions.
Reacting to his death, governor Babajide Sanwoolu commiserated with the Oba’s family in a message on Twitter, “On behalf of the government and people of Lagos, I commiserate with the Oniru Royal Family on the transition of HRH Oba Idowu Oniru who joined his forebears.
“ His service to the state and country at large will remain his enduring legacy. Adieu.”
In his reaction, Nigerian popular fuji artiste, Dr Adewale Ayuba in a telephone interview with newsmen expressed sadness at the passing of the patriarch “though death is inevitable but the passing on of a great leader inflicts more pain.”
“I pray Oba Oniru will continue to rest in peace as God grants the royal family and his associates fortitude to bear the loss.”
