Jublation took over the atmosphere of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Thursday as men of the Rivers State Police Command arrested another suspected serial killer of young women in hotel rooms.
The suspected killer, identified as Gracious David West, was apprehended by officials of the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad while he was on his way to Akwa Ibom from his hideout in Rivers State.
West was arrested with a military camouflage bag and brought to the State Police Command at about 5pm.
He was said to have confessed to killing 12 women; five in different hotels room in the Rivers, seven in Lagos and one other state not mentioned.
It was learnt that West, an indigene of Buguma in the Asari-Toru area of the state was in the habit of sleeping in hotels as no residential address could be linked to him.
A police source said, “West’s photo had been online as a man wanted by the police for his involvement in the killing of some women in the state.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, said he could not confirm the incident officially.
