The Peoples Democratic Party has cleared Stella Oduah, a serving senator, Patrick Ubah, and House of Representatives member Lynda Ikpeazu for the Anambra state governorship primary.

Also, the PDP cleared a former Minister of State John Okechukwu Emeka, and Dr. Alex Obiogolu.

However, the party disqualified Akolisa Ufodike for holding Nigerian and Canadian citizenship.

The Chairman of the screening committee, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, said Ufodike was barred based on the provision of Section 182(1) of the Nigerian Constitution.

According to Waziri, the said provision made it explicitly clear that anyone aspiring to become a governor of a state must hold only a Nigerian citizenship.
