A white garment cleric, Prophet Adedoyin Oyekan, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for reportedly beheading and burying a seven-year-old boy in his church.

Oyekan allegedly buried the boy identified as Kazeem Rafiu, at his church in Ikorodu area of the state.

Spokesperson of the State’s Police Command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, told reporters on Thursday that the spiritual moderator was arrested with another accomplice called Eric at Ikorodu.

According to him, Eric’s arrest and confession led to the arrest of the pastor and the recovery of the boy’s remains.

“On investigation, one of the suspects, Eric confessed to the crime. He led a team of policemen to Odokekere/ Odogunyan in Ikorodu area to apprehend Oyekan, who later led the team to where the seven-year-old boy was beheaded and his head buried,” he said.

“They hid the body inside a canal. The two suspects involved have been arrested and the body and the head of the boy were brought to the station.

“Investigation has commenced and the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos,” he added.

Concise News, learnt that the crime was committed at 16, Apata Abo Street, Odokekere, Odogunyan area of Ikorodu area.

It was also gathered that the 7-year-old was kidnapped by Eric who is said to be a friend to the boy’s family on Wednesday around 11am, after his father left him under his care.

He subsequently took the boy to the pastor’s church where the boy was beheaded and buried between 2am and 4am on Thursday.

On the father’s return, he asked for his son but Eric claimed that he had sent him home.

The suspect later confessed during a thorough interrogation by the detectives which led them to the pastor’s place where the remains of the child was buried.
