Some angry supporters of the late Isiaka Adeleke on Monday reportedly pulled down a canopy on Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and Sen Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
It was gathered that the supporters aimed at scaring away a newly appointed commissioner.
The agitating group were said to have carried out the attack on Idiat Babalola, who was recently appointed by the state governor Rauf Aregbesola, to protest the alleged poisoning of Adeleke by the All Progressives Congress leaders.
It was further learned that the commissioner was sitting among dignitaries including the deceased younger brother Deji Adeleke when the incident happened.
The youths, who alleged that the new commissioner was touted to become the running mate of unnamed anointed candidate of the APC, demanded that she should be asked to leave the premises of the late Adeleke’s residence.
According to Punch, despite pleas from family members of the deceased, the youths insisted that she should leave and started shouting and raining curses, calling her a betrayer.
The youths continued to shake the canopy where she was seated with other dignitaries to chase her out until she was protected out of the compound by Amosun and security operatives.
