The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has arrived the presidential villa to join a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
The Speaker went into the president’s office at about 11:57 a.m.
Top sources at the villa had said Senate President Saraki was also expected at the meeting with Buhari.
The meeting is coming on the heels of apparent Executive/ Legislative conflict following the refusal of the Nigerian Senate to consider and approve the list of 27 Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) sent to it.
The Senate stopped the confirmation hearings in protest against the continued retention of Ibrahim Magu as acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by President Buhari in spite of the legislators having rejected him twice.
