The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Strategy Review and Inter-party Affairs committee on Wednesday met with leaders of some political parties, as part of steps to return to power in 2019.
Chairman of the committee, Professor Jerry Gana, while speaking at the meeting, said the aim of the meeting was to explore possible collaboration ahead of the 2019 general elections.
”We are discussing as friendly political parties on ways we can work together or possibly fuse in 2019 general elections.
”The purpose of our gathering is very profound. We met before and set up a panel. The purpose of our meeting today is to consider the report of the panel,” he said.
Gana said the PDP and the other parties would have to decide whether to cooperate or merge.
”The number of the PDP leaders present is an indication of how serious we take this issue,” he said.
‘The Nation Is Worse’
A former Governor of Kaduna State and leader of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Balarabe Musa, said he was convinced that the situation of the country was worse in every indication.
”We can’t just sit there and do nothing. We are here in spite of our belonging to different political parties to see what we can do to salvage our country,” he added.
