Atiku, Ganduje Planning New Political Party – Kwankwaso Former Aide

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, have been accused of plotting to establish a new political party ahead of the 2019 general election.

This was made known in a statement by Suleiman Bichi, the former Secretary to former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Bichi said Atiku and Ganduje, who are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), are mingling with the Ahmed Makarfi’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

”It has been brought to our attention that Governor Ganduje of Kano state has been working with the Makarfi faction of the PDP and other politicians of northern extraction, and from what we know, they are aspiring to float a new party, the APDP,” he alleged.

Ganduje not happy with APC

Bichi said that Governor Ganduje was not happy with the leadership style of the APC.

”This is evident in the letter the national leadership of the APC sent to Kano, reaffirming Umar Doguwa as the substantive chairman of the party as against the government’s imposed leadership of an adviser to the governor who is even an outsider to the leadership of the party, and is against the party constitution,” he added.
