The immediate former Governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema, who was declared wanted on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly diverting N18 billion of government’s fund to his private account has turned himself in. Reports indicated that Shema reported to EFCC office in Abuja around 9:30 a.m. Friday.
According to Premium Times, Ibrahim Shema’s spokesperson, Oluwabusola Olawale, revealed that the ex-governor arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision headquarters around 9:30 a.m. today. He turned himself in because “he is a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear. Mr. Shema “went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.”
